China Airlines has expanded its reach within Japan by launching a new daily service that connects Taichung with Okinawa. This addition significantly enhances the airline’s presence in the Japanese market, bringing the total number of weekly round-trip flights between Taiwan and Japan to over 170. The new route is served by an Airbus A321neo, with flight CI310 departing Taichung at 10:00 a.m. and landing in Okinawa by 12:40 p.m. The return journey on flight CI311 leaves Okinawa at 1:40 p.m., arriving back in Taichung at 2:10 p.m.
In a bid to further bolster its service, China Airlines has announced plans to introduce a second daily flight starting August 13. This new service will see flight CI312 taking off from Taichung at 3:20 p.m. and reaching Okinawa at 6:00 p.m. The corresponding return flight, CI313, is scheduled to depart Okinawa at 7:00 p.m. and touch down in Taichung at 7:30 p.m. This added frequency is expected to cater to the growing demand from both business and leisure travelers looking to traverse this route.
This expansion in services marks a strategic enhancement of connectivity between Taiwan and Japan. With these new flights, along with the existing routes originating from Taipei and Kaohsiung, China Airlines will offer approximately 30 round-trip flights to Okinawa each week. Such a robust schedule is set to provide more flexible travel options, thus appealing to a broader range of passengers.
